EUGENE, Ore. - The UCLA men's golf team recorded its best Pac-12 Conference Championship finish since 2013, posting a second-place showing at the Eugene Country Club. The Bruins finished at even-par 1,420 for the 72 holes, shooting a 12-over 367 in windy conditions on Wednesday. UCLA finished seven shots back of Stanford and one ahead of California.

Oregon native and senior Cole Madey finished solo third at 5-under 279. He shot a 3-over 74 in his final round, making three birdies (No. 6, 14 and 16) and six bogeys. It was the best finish for a Bruin at Pac-12s since Jonathan Garrick tied for third at the 2015 Championship.

Sophomore Devon Bling was solo sixth at 2-under 282. He recorded a 1-over 72 on Wednesday on a 13th-hole birdie, two bogeys and 15 pars. Sophomore Eddy Lai tied for seventh at 1-under 283, posting a 3-over 74 in his last 18, tallying three birdies (No. 6, 13 and 18) and six bogeys. It is the first time since 2013 that the Bruins had three finishers inside the Top 10 at Pac-12s.

Senior Patrick Murphy tied for 14th (+3, 287), shooting a 3-over 74 on Wednesday, making three birdies (No. 13, 16 and 17) and six bogeys. Junior Hidetoshi Yoshihara tied for 37th (+10, 294), posting a 7-over 78 on two birdies (No. 6 and 13) and nine bogeys. Senior Jack Ireland shot a 2-over 73 on Wednesday, making three birdies (No. 9, 13 and 17), three bogeys and a double, finishing in a tie for 59th (+20, 304).

The Bruins will find out where they go for NCAA Regional play on May 1 when Golf Channel airs the selection show at 6 p.m. Regionals will take place at six sites across the country, May 13-15.
