LOS ANGELES โ A young group of UCLA distance runners capped the Oxy Invitational on Saturday evening on the campus of Occidental College.
ย
It was a strong meet for Paige Carter, who PR'ed in the 800m with a time of 2:13.24 to place 22nd, before the sophomore capped the day with a 14th-place finish (17:30.00) in her first collegiate 5000m race. Annabelle Werner (17:25.00) and Grace McAuley (17:45.00) also competed, placing 13th and 22nd, respectively. Werner's time marked a PR by nearly 12 seconds.

In the women's 1500m, Marisa Villegas competed in her first-career 1500m, finishing the race in 4:52.19 to place 42nd.

For the men, Munir Kabbara smashed his previous PR in the 3000m steeple, completing the event in 9:08.34 to finish 11th.

Chris Morzenti led the way in the men's 1500m run, placing sixth with a time of 3:47.13.

In the 5000m, DJ Lawson placed fourth in his heat and 42nd overall, capping the race at 14:47.70, and Millen Trujillo took 64th at 15:01.89.
