UCLA FINISHES MINI-HOMESTAND BY HOSTING NO. 6 GEORGETOWN
UCLA, which plays five of its first seven games of the year away from home, is set to host No. 6 Georgetown on Monday evening in the the second of a two-game homestand at Wallis Annenberg Stadium. The Bruins opened the weekend by defeating defending national champion and No. 1-ranked Maryland 3-2 on Friday night. UCLA is also in a stretch that sees them play a top-six team in three straight games. Monday's showdown will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks with Troy Clardy on the call. Fans can also follow along with an internet audio broadcast and live stats, both available through UCLABruins.com.
HOT AT HOME
The Bruins have been traditionally tough to beat on their home field. Dating back to 2010, UCLA is 64-23-8 (.716) in home games, and has recorded a winning record at home in every season. UCLA is 7-4 (.636) at home since moving to Wallis Anneberg Stadium before the 2018 season.

MILAN ILOSKI RECORDS HAT TRICK IN WIN OVER MARYLAND
Junior forward Milan Iloski scored a career-high three goals to power UCLA to a 3-2 win over Maryland on Friday night. Sophomore keeper Justin Garces had a nice night as well, making four saves including a pair of highlight reel stops. Notes on the win:
GARCES NAMED PAC-12 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
UCLA sophomore keeper Justin Garces was named the first Pac-12 Player of the Week for the 2019 season. Garces posted a career-high seven saves to help the Bruins blank Northwestern 1-0 in the season-opener. He made all seven of his saves in the second half, shutting down a flurry of offense from the Wildcats. He had to make five saves - equaling his previous career-best - in the opening 10 minutes of the second half alone. It was the first Pac-12 Player of the Week Award in Garces's career, and the second consecutive season that a Bruin took home the league's weekly honor in the first week of the year (Matt Hundley, 2018).
ILOSKIS IN A GROVE
One of the Iloski brothers - forward Milan or midfielder Eric - has recorded at least one point in all five of UCLA's games so far this season. Milan scored against Westmont and Northwestern, recorded an assist against Indiana, then potted a hat trick against No. 1 Maryland. Eric scored the lone goal against Omaha in the preseason and earned an assist on Milan's first goal against the Terps.
POWELL TABBED TO PRESEASON ALL-PAC-12 TEAM
Redshirt senior midfielder/defender Matthew Powell was named to the 2019 Preseason All-Pac-12 Team ahead of the new season. Powell was one of just three defenders to make the conference's preseason Best XI. The Castro Valley, Calif. native was an All-Pac-12 second team choice in 2018 after receiving an all-conference honorable mention as a sophomore in 2017. A mainstay of the defensive corps last year, Powell was one of just three Bruins to start all 19 of the team's games. Spending time at both center back and holding mid, Powell played the full 90 in all but three games and ended the year with 1,670 minutes of action, third-most on the team.
JEFFERSON ALADE INCLUDED ON TOP DRAWER'S PRESEASON FRESHMAN BEST XI
UCLA freshman forward Jefferson Alade was tabbed to the TopDrawerSoccer Preseason Freshman Best XI before the start of the new season. He was one of just three forwards listed among the XI. A product of the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy, Alade scored 36 goals over 83 career games with the club. He saw his productivity go up as he got older, culminating in a career-high 15 scores last year in 31 games. He was a three-star recruit per TopDrawer.
LAST TIME OUT VS. GEORGETOWN
UCLA and Georgetown last met on Sept. 4, 2017, with the Hoyas pulling out a 1-0 win in Washington, D.C. The lone goal of the game was scored by Georgetown's Achara, who netted in the 12th minute. The Bruins' offense was stymied in the contest, mustering just one shot on goal (by Milan Iloski). Kevin Silva made seven saves, including four in the first half, in the loss.
SERIES VS. GEORGETOWN
The Bruins, who are 0-3 all-time against Georgetown, are looking for their first-ever win against the Hoyas. However, Monday's matchup represents the first time ever that the two teams are meeting in Los Angeles. UCLA dropped decisions in the nation's capital in 2009, 2015, and 2017.
BRUINS IN RED, WHITE, AND BLUE
Former UCLA players Reggie Cannon and Jackson Yueill as well as current volunteer assistant coach Walker Zimmerman were all named to the 26-man roster for the U.S. Men's National Team in late August. Zimmerman and Cannon both started in the USMNT's battle against Mexico on Sept. 6, while Yueill appeared as a substitute. Cannon has accrued seven caps with the senior team, including a start at right back in the 2019 Gold Cup final against Mexico. Yueill received his first cap earlier this year. Zimmerman, an LAFC defender, has scored twice over 11 career games with Team USA.

The Bruins will have 16 of 18 regular season games appear on TV this season, including all 10 home games. Pac-12 Networks will provide live television coverage of every regular season game at Wallis Annenberg Stadium in addition to four UCLA road games.

Starting on Sept. 26, UCLA will play a season-high eight consecutive games at home. That is the longest homestand for the program since at least 1980 (home-away designations are unavailable prior to 1980). Once that stretch begins, the Bruins don't play another road game until they head to Berkeley for a matchup against Cal on Halloween.

The 2019 UCLA squad features 10 newcomers. That contingent includes a trio of Division I transfers in midfielders Jose Sosa (Pacific) and Marcony Pimentel (Pitt) as well as defender Ben Reveno (UC Irvine). Defender Ruben Soria (Santa Monica College) joins the Bruins from the junior college ranks, while Jefferson Alade (Vancouver Whitecaps) represents the MLS Academy system. UCLA opened its season at the IU/Adidas Credit Union Classic hosted by Indiana, defeating Northwestern 1-0 in a neutral-field contest before falling 2-1 to No. 2 Indiana. Both games were decided in overtime. Junior forward Milan Iloski potted the golden goal against the Wildcats in the 95th minute, finishing off a nice team offensive sequence by re-directing a Riley Ferch cross into the net. Marcony Pimentel opened the scoring with a 53rd minute marker against the Hoosiers, but the home team equalized five minutes later before taking the game in double overtime, as Jack Maher finished a corner kick in the 104th minute.
