LOS ANGELES – The UCLA dive team is set to host the 2020 Bruin Diving Invitational this weekend at Spieker Aquatics Center. The three-day event runs Friday through Sunday, with competition beginning each day at 10:30 a.m.
This weekend marks the first official competition for the swim and dive team at Spieker since October. The Invite opens up a stretch that sees UCLA host four straight interscholastic competitions before postseason action begins on Feb. 26.
The meet has received 87 entries from 17 different schools, including divers from USC, Hawai'i, Cal, Stanford, Utah, Northern Arizona, and UNLV. All five of the Bruins' rostered divers will be competing.
Real-time results will be available at DiveMeets.com. Admission to the event is free all three days.
UCLA dominated the 2019 version of the invitational, with a Bruin taking the title in all three events.
Then-seniors Maria Polyakova and Eloise Belanger finished 1-2 in 3-meter to open the competition, with Belanger going on to capture titles in platform and 1-meter in the two ensuing days.
This year, the action begins with women's 1-meter and men's 3-meter on Friday. The next day includes women's 3-meter and men's platform. The competition concludes on Sunday with women's platform and men's 1-meter on Sunday.
