Swim & Dive Receives Team Scholar All-America Award

LOS ANGELESย โ The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) has named the UCLA women's swimming and diving team to its 2019 Fall Scholar All-America Team, it was announced on Wednesday. The Bruins registered a cumulative 3.11 grade point average as a team.ย
Wednesday's news comes on the heels of the unveiling of the UCLA Athletics Director's Honor Roll for 2019 fall quarter. Swim and Dive contributed 25 student-athletes to that list, helping UCLA make history as a school-record 415 student-athletes were honored.ย
In addition, a dozen members of the UCLA swim and dive team finished the fall quarter with a GPA north of 3.5. Freshman diver Hannah Butler and junior Lia Foster both recorded spotless 4.0 GPAs.
Other student-athletes to hit the 3.5 mark for Fall 2019 included sophomore Jackie Basham, junior Emma Cain, senior Elena Escalas, senior Maisie Jameson, freshman Lauryn Johnson, senior Lisa Kaunitz, senior Kenisha Liu, sophomore Bonnie Schmitz, sophomore Emma Smethurst, and sophomore Katie Sulkevich.ย
