UCLA took to the balance beam in rotation three and came through big after last week's troubles with a six-for-six rotation and a season-high-tying 49.375. The Bruins started with a leadoff 9.950 from Grace Glenn and ended with another 9.975 from Kyla Ross. Also earning top marks were Poston, who scored a career-high 9.9, and Hano, who earned a season-best 9.8.
Armed with a nearly two-point lead going into the final rotation, UCLA shined on floor exercise. The freshman duo of Chloe Lashbrooke and Andres started the rotation with a 9.85 and 9.875, respectively. Dennis added a 9.875, followed by back-to-back 9.95s from Kramer and Hano. Ross finished with a 9.85 to claim her sixth consecutive all-around title with a total of 39.7. And in her 2020 all-around debut, Hano finished second with a career-high 39.475.
"Today's meet was totally fun, but it was really a normal workout in our gym," said UCLA head coach Chris Waller. "These are the performances that we do in practice. They did great. They did exactly what they intended to do. They wanted to compete with intention on every skill and stay with it the whole way through, and they did that."
Fourteen different Bruins competed today, including three of the team's four freshmen, all of whom earned a score of 9.85 or higher on an event.
The Bruins will travel to Tempe, Ariz. for a Saturday, Feb. 15 dual meet against Arizona State.
