Emma Spitz Named to 2020 Arnold Palmer Cup Team

NORMAN, Okla. - Freshman Emma Spitz will represent the International squad in the 2020 Arnold Palmer Cup, as announced on Friday.
The match-play competition features 12 members of both the U.S. and International teams, and is slated to be held July 3-5 at the Lahinch Golf Club in Lahinch, Ireland, however it is unknown if the matches will still be held due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Spitz, a native of Vienna, Austria, is currently ranked 17th in the Women's Amateur Golf Ranking. She led the Bruins in scoring average this season at 71.4, recording her first collegiate victory at the Bruin Wave Invitational, overcoming a six-shot deficit to share medalist honors. Spitz shot a final-round, 3-under 69, finishing at 5-under 211 following a pair of 1-under 71s in the first two rounds. The freshman was a combined 8-under for the season, including 6-under in opening rounds and 11-under in second rounds. Spitz placed in the Top 10 in six of her eight tournaments, posting 11 under-par rounds and six rounds in the 60s.
