May Selected UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, Presented by Ready

Graduate student Mac May of the UCLA women's volleyball team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for Oct. 25-31.

May picked up her Pac-12 leading 8th 20-kill match of the season (tied for most amongst Power-5 players) and led the Bruins in kills in both matches last weekend, helping UCLA to its best record through 20 matches since 2011 (17-3) and pushing it into sole possession of first place in the Pac-12 standings since 1999. May's 22 kills were accompanied by 16 digs for her team-leading seventh double-double of the season. May equaled her season-high hitting percentage for a match in the Bruins' sweep of No. 8 Washington (.424). May also tallied three block assists against the Huskies in UCLA's first sweep of Washington since the 2011 season.

Over the two victories, May tacked up 40 kills, averaging five kills per set, at a combined .317 hitting percentage. She currently ranks second in the Pac-12 in both kills per set (4.72) and points per set (5.26).

This is May's second UCLA student-athlete of the week award of the season and fourth of her career.
