LOS ANGELES - The second-ranked Bruins recorded a pair of 8-0, five-inning victories over UC Santa Barbara on Thursday at Easton Stadium, as junior Delanie Wisz homered in both ends of the twinbill for two of UCLA's six dingers on the day.

In game one, the Bruins (12-1) had 11 hits from eight different players, as senior Bubba Nickles posted a pair of hits and four runs batted in, while junior Kinsley Washington and sophomore Kelli Godin both recorded two-hit contests.

Junior Holly Azevedo (3-0) picked up the win in the circle, striking out two in 4 2/3 shutout innings, allowing six hits and two walks. She had a 1-2-3 inning in the second. Senior Rachel Garcia retired the final batter of the fifth on a strikeout.

The Bruins brought across a run in the second, as Wisz reached on an error, moved to second on a wild pitch, advanced to third on a ground out and scored on a sacrifice fly by Washington.

UCLA tacked on four more in the fourth. Freshman Maya Brady was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning and then stole second. One out later, infield singles for Washington and Godin brought up Nickles, who launched a grand slam off the scoreboard in left to put the Bruins up 5-0. It was the senior's third homer of the season.

The Bruins invoked the mercy rule in the fifth with three runs. Wisz led off with a homer, her fourth of the year, which was followed by a Brady bomb, her second of the season, to make it 7-0. One out later, Washington reached on a single, stole second, advanced to third on an error and scored on a pinch-hit single from Thessa Malau'ulu to close out an 8-0 win.

In game two, freshman Lexi Sosa (2-0) started and struck out four in three shutout innings, giving up two hits and two walks. She fanned two in the first and had a 1-2-3 frame in the third. Garcia closed out the game with a pair of 1-2-3 innings, striking out the side in the fourth and two in the fifth. The Bruins (13-1) had seven hits from seven different players, with Wisz driving in four.

The Bruins scored twice in the first inning, as junior Briana Perez hit a one-out homer, her fourth of the season. Junior Aaliyah Jordan followed with a walk, stole second, moved to third on a Garcia single and scored on a Wisz sacrifice fly to make it 2-0.

In the second, Washington manufactured the Bruins' third run, recording a single and steals of second and third before scoring on a Nickles single.

UCLA busted it open with five in the third. After leadoff walks to Jordan and Garcia, Wisz launched her second home run of the doubleheader and team-best fifth of the season to make it 6-0. Brady followed with a walk and came home on a two-run shot by freshman Alyssa Garcia, her second of the year, to extend the lead to 8-0.

The Bruins host UNLV in a Friday doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. A live stream will be available on UCLABruins.com.
