STANFORD, Calif. – The UCLA men's soccer team suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of No. 3 Stanford on Saturday afternoon at Cagan Stadium.
The Bruins (1-3-1, 0-2-1) and Cardinal (5-0-0, 3-0-0) were level for most of the first half, with Keegan Tingey breaking the deadlock for the hosts with a 40th minute score.
Stanford would go on to add three scores between the 62nd and 76th minutes, with Jack O'Brien, Charlie Wehan, and Zach Ryan finding the back of the net.
The Bruins had two shots on goal in the contest.
Junior defender Eirik Baekkelund had the first crack at the net, sending in a low shot from above the box after the ball came to him following a corner kick sequence in the 36th minute.
Sophomore midfielder Riley Ferch put a ball on frame in the 89th minute for the Bruins off a set piece just beyond the 18, but Stanford keeper Kyle Orciuch made the stop.
Junior goalie Justin Garces had a solid day in net for UCLA, making a season-high six saves.
After two straight games on the road, the Bruins return to Wallis Annenberg Stadium for the first time in nearly a month when they host Washington on Sunday, Mar. 14 at 5:00 p.m. PT.
