Bruins, Bling Hold 36-Hole Leads at Lamkin San Diego Classic

CHULA VISTA, Calif. - After 36 holes, the Bruins are the only team under par at the Lamkin San Diego Classic, while senior Devon Bling holds a three-shot lead following a 3-under 69 on Tuesday at the San Diego Country Club.
UCLA, which was four shots back of the team lead heading into the second round, shot an even-par 288, seven strokes better than the next-best school on Tuesday. The Bruins are at 1-under 575 after 36 holes and are nine shots ahead of second-place Nevada (+8, 584).
Bling is at 7-under 137 through two rounds following his nice second round. He birdied his first two holes, a par-4 and a par-5, adding three more birdies on the par-3 11th, par-5 14th and par-4 17th to go with two bogeys. He is three shots ahead of Denver's Jackson Solem and San Diego's Ryan Bisharat (-4, 140).
Senior Eddy Lai surged into red figures after a 4-under 68, the best round for any golfer at the SDCC on Tuesday, and seven strokes better than his Monday total. Lai also birdied the first two holes, as well as the par-4 10th, par-3 13th and par-5 16th to go with only one bogey. Lai is one of only seven players under par through two rounds (-1, 143) and tied for fourth.
Junior Bryan Wiyang Teoh is tied for eighth at even-par 144 after a 2-over 74 on Tuesday. He made four birdies on the par-5 eighth, par-4 12th, par-5 14th and par-4 17th holes, adding four bogeys and a double. Sophomore Mason Greene is tied for 53rd (+7, 151), making two birdies on the par-4 fifth and par-5 eighth holes, five bogeys and a double in a 5-over 77. Freshman Dylan Vizanko (111th, +25, 169) made a birdie on the par-4 17th, nine bogeys, a double and a quad (+14, 86).
The Bruins begin their final round on Wednesday at 8:50 a.m. off the first tee in the order of Vizanko, Greene, Teoh, Lai and Bling. Live scoring will be available here.
