Spitz Takes the Lead With One Round Left at Pac-12s

STANFORD, Calif. - Sophomore Emma Spitz shot her second-consecutive, 3-under 68 at the Stanford Golf Course on Saturday, taking the lead following 36 holes at the Pac-12 Championships.
Spitz sits at 6-under 136, holding a one-shot lead over Stanford's Rachel Heck (-5, 137). Spitz made five birdies in her first 11 holes, including three in a row on the par-3 third and fourth holes and the par-4 fifth. She added birdies on the par-4 ninth and 11th to go with a pair of bogeys.
As a team, the Bruins are in fifth place (+13, 581), shooting a 6-over 290 on Saturday.
Sophomore Annabel Wilson is in 10th place (+2, 144), recording a 1-under 70 in her second round. She birdied her first hole, the par-5 first, as well as the par-3 eighth and 17th and the par-4 ninth, adding three bogeys. Junior Simar Singh is tied for 26th (+8, 150). She had back-to-back birdies on the par-5 seventh and par-3 eighth, with three bogeys and a 10 on the scorecard in a 7-over 78. Sophomore Emilie Paltrinieri is tied for 32nd (+11, 153), making five bogeys in a 5-over 76. Sophomore Yuki Yoshihara is tied for 38th (+13, 155), recording a pair of birdies on the par-4 third and par-5 12th and seven bogeys in a 5-over 76.
The final round for the Bruins starts at 8 a.m. on Sunday off the first tee in the order of Yoshihara, Paltrinieri, Singh, Wilson and Spitz. Live scoring will be available here.
