Swim & Dive Splits for Diving Nationals, UNLV Invite

The UCLA swim and dive team will split this week for a pair of competitions, with the divers heading to the USA Diving Nationals and the swimmers heading to the UNLV Winter Invitational.
The USA Diving Nationals, being held at the Mylan Park Aquatic Center in Morgantown, W.V., run from Dec. 14-18 with qualifier events running on Monday and Tuesday. A live stream of the meet can be viewed on USA Diving's YouTube page.
Meanwhile, the UNLV Invite will be held from Dec. 17-19 at Jim Reitz Pool in Las Vegas, Nev.
Bruins will be competing nearly every day at the national dive meet, starting on Tuesday as sophomores Zoe Jespersgaard and Maya Salvitti compete in the 3-meter qualifier starting at 2:00 p.m. PT. They will be seeking a score of at least 260.00 to advance to the championships later in the week. Should Jespersgaard or Salvitti hit the 260 mark and finish top-three, they will also be invited to compete in 1-meter.
Wednesday will be a busy day for UCLA, as Jespersgaard will pair with both Salvitti and senior Hannah Butler in the 3-meter synchro championship. Finals are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. PT.
The weekend brings the springboard championships at the diving nationals, with 1M on Friday and 3M on Saturday. On both days, prelims are scheduled for 7:00 a.m. PT and finals for 1:00 p.m. PT. Butler has already qualified for both competitions, and could be joined by one or more teammates pending Tuesday's qualifier results.
Over in Las Vegas, prelims are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. PT and finals for 5:00 p.m. PT on each day of competition. Live results will be available on the MeetMobile app.
Saturday's scheduled events include the 200 free relay, 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, and 400 medley relay.
Sunday is slated to have the 200 medley relay, 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, and 800 free relay.
The meet wraps up on Monday with the 1650 free, 100 IM, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, and 400 free relay.
This weekend's competitions are the last of the 2022 calendar year for the UCLA swim and dive team. The Bruins first return to Spieker Aquatics Center for the 2023 Bruin Diving Invitational, which runs from Jan. 13-15 with a 10:30 a.m. PT start each day.
