  • It was UCLA's first weekly honor from the Pac-12 in two seasons (last: Tommy Silva - Nov. 15, 2021)

Last Week in Review
UCLA went unbeaten in its first week of Pac-12 play, drawing with Stanford and defeating California at home:
  • T, 2-2, vs. Stanford on Thursday: UCLA was able to score a pair of set-piece goals but ultimately had to settle for a 2-2 draw against then-No. 4 Stanford. The Bruins never trailed in their Pac-12 opener following goals from Ryan Becher (15') and Jack Sarkos (50'), but Stanford equalized in relatively short order on both occasions. UCLA ended the game with a 13-10 edge in shots, including an 8-3 advantage in the opening stanza. Andre Ochoa and Tommy Silva picked up assists for their dead-ball services into the box.
  • W, 2-1, vs. California on Sunday: Becher and Tucker Lepley scored second-half goals to fuel UCLA to a 2-1 win over Cal. UCLA never trailed in the contest and looked like it was on its way to a 1-0 clean sheet-win, but the Bruins had to gut out an eventful final 10 minutes to come away with the full three points. Cal earned a penalty in the 81st minute but put the PK effort off the crossbar. Lepley responded with a golazo in the 86th to double UCLA's lead, but Cal responded less than a minute later to bring it back within one. That goal, by Juan Martinez, turned out be Cal's lone shot on goal for the game.
All-Time Series Against OSU
UCLA owns a 36-11-3 record all-time against Oregon State. The Bruins are seeking their first win in Corvallis since 2017, having lost four straight at Lorenz Field (last year's contest was canceled due to rain). Active Bruins with strong career stats against OSU include Tommy Silva (3A in 5 GP), and Jose Contell (1G, 1A in 3 GP).

Last Time Out Against OSU
The Bruins were edged, 1-0, by the Beavers on Sept. 29 of last season at Wallis Annenberg Stadium. Nate Crockford was a standout for the Bruins, making four saves including a pair of highlight stops. Aaron Edwards had the Bruins' best chance at equalizing, pouncing on a loose ball in the box but sending it wide of the far post in the 90th minute.

Last Year Against Washington
The Bruins dropped a pair of one-goal decisions to the Huskies last year, who finished No. 1 in the final regular season United Soccer Coaches Poll and No. 2 in the RPI:
  • L, 0-1, at UCLA on Oct. 2, 2022: A highlight-reel half-volley from Nick Scardina just before the halftime break proved to be the difference as UCLA battled to a 1-0 loss against then-No. 2 Washington on Oct. 2 at Wallis Annenberg Stadium. The Bruins had a few good scoring chances against the Huskies - Jose Contell shot right into the keeper on a partial 1v1 in the first half, and Thomas Raimbault headed over the bar off a back-post flick in the second half - but couldn't hit the back of the net.
  • L, 2-3, at UW on Nov. 3, 2022: The Bruins dropped a 3-2 heartbreaker to top-ranked Washington. UCLA became just the second team this season to pot multiple goals against the Huskies, with Tucker Lepley and Thomas Raimbault notching their first goals of the campaign. Lepley equalized for the Bruins, 1-1, pouncing on the ball after a muffed catch by the UW keeper in the 30th minute. Raimbault made it a one-goal game at the 88:37 mark after popping home a low Lepley cross for his first collegiate score.
All-Time Series Against Washington
UCLA owns a 30-24-4 record all-time against Washington. The Huskies have had the upper hand in the head-to-head series in recent years, winning nine consecutive matches. Current Bruins to have recorded points against Washington include Tucker Lepley (2G in 3 GP) and Jose Contell (1A in 4 GP).

Take Your Shot
The Bruins have tallied double-digit shots in each of their first eight games to start the season, including a season-high 19 shot attempts on Sept. 23 in Irvine. It marks the first time since 2017 that UCLA has had 10+ shots in eight consecutive games. The Bruins enter the week with the No. 11 shot rate in the country (15.8 per game) as well as the No. 6 shots on goal rate (7.4 per game). UCLA is 4-0-1 this when taking at least 17 shots in a game.
