Dodson Named AVCA Honorable Mention All-American

LEXINGTON, Ky. โ Middle blocker Anna Dodson on the UCLA women's volleyball team was named an AVCA NCAA Division I Honorable Mention All-American, it was announced Wednesday morning.

Dodson capitalized on her return to UCLA last offseason with the first All-American recognition of her career after leading the Bruins with 1.24 block per set and a .374 hitting percentage in 2023. She is UCLA's first All-American honoree since Mac May and Zoe Fleck who starred during the Fall 2021 season. She led the Bruins to an 18-12 record with a 10-10 mark and sixth-place finish in Pac-12 Conference play.

Dodson, an All-Pac-12 selection for the third time in her career in 2023, totaled 322.0 points (3.04 PPS) off 233 kills (2.20 KPS) and 131 total blocks. She ranked sixth in the conference in total blocks and fourth in solo blocks with 23. Dodson was UCLA's leading blocker in 13 matches and top point scorer in six contests.

Offensively, Dodson recorded 11 double-digit kill performances, including a career-high 17 kills for a .577 clip in UCLA's upset over then-No. 9 Washington State on the road on Nov. 10. That performance, along with her 13 kills for .545 at Washington on Nov. 12, earned Dodson Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career.

The Fort Collins, Colo. native was UCLA's most efficient performer, notching 10-plus kills with at least a .350 hitting percentage in 10 of the Bruins' 30 matches.

She has one year of eligibility remaining in 2024.
