Campos Leads Heading into Final Round at Silverado Showdown

NAPA, Calif. – Sophomore Zoe Antoinette Campos holds a one-stroke lead (-4) after two rounds at the Silverado Showdown at Silverado Resort. The UCLA women's golf team is in third place (+14; 294-296) and trails No. 16 Northwestern by 18 strokes.
Senior Yuki Yoshihara recorded a hole-in-one with her six iron on the par-3 15th. Her tee shot landed roughly five feet in front of the hole and bounced in the cup. She finished 1-over 73 on the day and is in a tie for 29th at 6-over for the tournament.
Campos, who was named the Pac-12 Women's Golfer of the Week earlier today, shot a 1-over 73 in her second round on Tuesday. In second place is No. 8 Oregon's Catherine Park (-3). Campos is coming off the first win of her collegiate career at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic last week.
The last time a Bruin won multiple individual medals in a single season was in 2018-19 when UCLA's trio of Patty Tavatanakit (three wins), Mariel Galdiano (two wins) and Beth Wu (two wins) achieved the feat.
Caroline Canales was the Bruins' third counting score on Tuesday with a 2-over 74. Canales recorded a par on every hole on the front nine and birdied three times on the back nine. For the tournament, Canales is 5-over and tied for 23rd.
Annabel Wilson rounded out UCLA's scoring on day two with a 4-over 76.
Round three will begin in a shotgun start at 9 a.m. (PT).
