LOS ANGELES – Sophomore Kiki Rice of UCLA Women's Basketball has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for the week of Feb. 5-11.
UCLA's point guard recorded 20 points on 9-for-12 shooting against Arizona in the 66-58 win over the Wildcats on Friday, her third 20+ point performance of the year. Rice shot her highest FG% during a conference game with the result (.750 FG%), and added three rebounds, two assists and a steal to her stat line. The Maryland native followed up her Friday performance with another efficient effort Sunday, scoring 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting. Rice also had eight rebounds, two blocks and a steal in No. 9 UCLA's 33-point win over Arizona State (W, 78-45). The sophomore did not miss a three-point attempt in either game (2-for-2 vs. Arizona, 1-for-1 vs. Arizona State). Rice has also recorded 1+ steals in all but two games this year.
UCLA secured its second 2-0 weekend of the Conference season with wins over Arizona and Arizona State (previous: vs. Oregon, vs. Oregon State; Jan. 5-7).
Rice earns her third-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award, and the third of her sophomore campaign.
