No. 5 Bruins Head to Mountains for Back-to-Back Top 20 Matchups

LOS ANGELES – UCLA Women's Basketball travels to the mountains to take on No. 3/3 Colorado (15-1, 5-0 Pac-12) and No. 20/20 Utah (12-5, 2-3 Pac-12) in back-to-back top-20 matchups.
 
The No. 5/5 Bruins take on the Buffs Friday in Boulder, Colo., at the CU Events Center, before heading to Salt Lake City, Utah, to face the Utes on Monday. Friday's game will be broadcast to Pac-12 Los Angeles with Thad Anderson and Charli Turner Thorne on the call. Beth Mowins and Debbie Antonelli are slated to cover Monday's game against Utah. Dave Marcus will provide play-by-play analysis to audio listeners on UCLA Digital Radio for both matchups.

MATCHUP HISTORY: UCLA vs. COLORADO
• UCLA dropped its only game against then-No. 25 Colorado during the 2022-23 season. The Bruins fell in overtime, losing 70-73 after a Buffalo three with 2 seconds on the clock, in Boulder, Colo., on Jan. 27, 2023.
• Friday's matchup will be the 23rd matchup in program history, with UCLA holding a 14-7 advantage in the all-time series. The Bruins are 7-5 in road games against the Buffs. It will be the highest-ranked matchup between the programs; the previous high was No. 10 UCLA vs. No. 20 Colorado on Jan. 1, 2017 (W, 87-74).

MATCHUP HISTORY: UCLA vs. UTAH
• The Utes are currently on a two-game win streak over the Bruins; then-No. 8 UCLA lost its lone matchup of the 2022-23 season at then-No. 9 Utah on Jan. 29, 2023. Alissa Pili scored a layup with 0.8 on the clock to defeat the Bruins 69-71 in the second game of UCLA's mountain trip last season.
• UCLA is 18-5 against Utah in the all-time series between the programs; the Bruins have won 8 of their 11 matchups in Salt Lake City. Monday's game will mark the second top-20 matchup between the teams in as many seasons.

STAC-ING UP AGAINST THE PAC
• UCLA sat at its highest ranking in program history, coming in at No. 2 on both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches Polls, for eight-consecutive weeks. The Bruins are now No. 5 in both polls. There are three additional Pac-12 programs in the top 10 of the respective polls (No. 3/3 Colorado, No. 6/4 USC, No. 8/8 Stanford), and No. 20/20 Utah sits in the top 20 - Oregon State received votes in both the AP and Coaches Polls.
• Five Bruins are in the top 25 scorers in the Pac-12 Conference. Betts leads the way with 15.6 PPG (9th, Pac-12), followed by Osborne (14.1 PPG, 12th), Jones (13.3 PPG, 18th), Rice (12.9 PPG, 22nd) and Jaquez (11.5 PPG, 25th). UCLA has 5 players in double-digit scoring, the most in the Pac-12. Dugalic (8.8 PTS) jumps in and out of double-digit scoring. Colorado has the next-most in the Conference with four student-athletes in double-figure scoring.
• Betts is shooting a conference- and NCAA-leading .712 FG% through 14 games (1st, Pac-12; 1st, NCAA). The center has corralled 129 rebounds in her 15 appearances with the Bruins, averaging 8.6 rebounds per game this season (23.7 MPG). The center ranks 6th in the Conference in RPG (A. Dugalic: 6.8 RPG, 14th - Pac-12). Jaquez joins Betts and Dugalic in the top 20 in the Conference: 5.9 RPG, 20th - Pac-12.
• Sophomore Kiki Rice has thrown 88 assists in 15 appearances this season; her 5.9 APG ranks 3rd in the Conference, 19th in the NCAA in assists per game. Osborne has dished 68 AST (8th, Pac-12), good for 4.5 APG (7th, Pac-12).
