Leverette's fifth kill of the set and an ace from Singletary helped UCLA tie the frame at 16-all following a 6-1 surge. The Huskies, however, closed strong with a decisive 9-1 run to take the opener, despite Leverette and Li combining for 11 kills.

Leverette and Singletary each delivered clutch kills to earn set points, but the Huskies fended them off and ultimately prevailed, 27-25.
