Three Bruins Collect AVCA All-Pacific Region Accolades

LEXINGTON, Ky. โ€“ย The UCLA women's volleyball had three student-athletes recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) with All-Pacific Region honors, announced Monday. Sophomore libero Lola Schumacher and redshirt junior middle blocker Marianna Singletary were named to the First Team, while senior outside hitter Cheridyn Leverette earned Honorable Mention distinction.

Leverette secured All-Region recognition for the second time in her career, while Schumacher and Singletary collected their first All-Region honors.

In her first season with UCLA, Schumacher quickly established herself as one of the premier liberos in the country, earning First Team-All Big Ten honors. She led the Bruins with 495 digs, averaging 4.38 per set, and reached double-digit digs in 28 of her 29 starts. Schumacher surpassed the 20-dig mark seven times, highlighted by a career-best 27 digs in a five-set win against Illinois. She closed the year with a stretch of five 20-plus dig performances in her last six matches. Schumacher also contributed 115assists and even chipped in six kills, while earning two Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors during the season.

Singletary was also a First Team All-Big Ten recipient after her standout redshirt junior season, emerging as a reliable force at the net, finishing second on the team in kills (294) and points (3.26 per set) while leading all regular hitters with a .322 hitting percentage. Defensively, she was a cornerstone of UCLA's blocking unit, tallying 146 total blocks and averaging 1.30 per set, ranking among the top five in the Big Ten. Singletary posted 13 matches with double-digit kills, including a season-high 16 against Washington, and added 18 matches with five or more blocks. In UCLA's five-set win over Georgia Tech in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Singletary stole the show in the five-set win, notching her first double-double with a career-best 22 kills and 11 blocks, two of them solo. The middle blocker was extremely efficient, hitting .556 on the night.

Leverette, also a First Team All-Big Ten honoree, capped her Bruin career as the team's top offensive option, averaging 3.82 kills per set and 4.17 points per set across the season. She finished with 447 total kills on 1,143 attempts for a total of 487.5 points. Beyond her attacking numbers, Leverette contributed 157 digs and 42 blocks. She recorded 28 matches in double figures for kills, including five outings with 20 or more. Her season-high came in a five-set victory over Michigan, where she delivered 25 kills at a .353 efficiency. Leverette departs Westwood ranked 24th in program history with 1,225 career kills.
