LOS ANGELES - No. 5 UCLA recorded its fifth consecutive Big Ten Conference victory, defeating No. 25 Penn State, 197.675-195.450, in Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom. The Bruins (8-2, 5-0 in the Big Ten) earned a season-high 49.575 on uneven bars and recorded a total of 10 scores of 9.9 or higher.
The Bruins took home individual victories on every event for the second consecutive meet, with Jordan Chiles earning the all-around title and tying for first on uneven bars and floor exercise. Freshman Mika Webster-Longin tied Penn State's Maddie Johnston for first place on vault with a career-high 9.850. Frida Esparza, who opened the meet by playing the national anthem on electric guitar, was electric herself on uneven bars, tying with Chiles for first place with a career-best 9.975. Emily Lee was the individual event winner in her only routine of the day, scoring a 9.925 as the leadoff on balance beam. Brooklyn Moors and Chiles added more floor exercise victories to their resumes, each scoring 9.950.
UCLA started the meet with a solid 49.100 on vault, all six Bruin competitors turning in scores of 9.800 or above. Riley Jenkins and Moors recorded back-to-back 9.800s to start the rotation. Webster-Longin kept the momentum going with her meet-winning 9.850. Chae Campbell and Chiles scored consecutive 9.825s, and Macy McGowan closed the rotation with a 9.800. Penn State totaled 48.825 on uneven bars to end the rotation down 0.275.
The Bruins flourished on uneven bars in rotation two, extended their lead to a full point after scoring a season-high 49.575. Campbell led off with a season-best 9.875 after sticking her double front dismount. Webster-Longin's 9.825 was followed by Emma Malabuyo's career-high-tying 9.900. McGowan followed suit with a strong 9.850, and Esparza and Chiles closed the rotation with a flourish, scoring back-to-back 9.975s to give the Bruins a 98.675-97.675 lead.
With momentum on their side, the Bruins added to their lead on balance beam in rotation three, scoring 49.450. Lee's leadoff 9.925 set the standard and ultimately was the highest score of the night on the event. After Chiles' 9.850, Campbell and Moors recorded back-to-back 9.900s, Moors' mark matching her career-best. Ciena Alipio contributed a 9.875, and Malabuyo concluded the rotation with a 9.825, giving the Bruins a commanding 148.125-146.525 lead to enter the final event.

Malabuyo followed the freshman's lead, recording another 9.900. Moors and Chiles each scored 9.950 for the second consecutive week to tie for the event win. Penn State also closed strong, earning their highest event score of the night, 48.950 onn balance beam.
The Bruins' team total will help boost UCLA into the Top 2 in the national rankings, which will be based on National Qualifying Score (NQS) beginning next week. UCLA will travel to Michigan next Sunday, Feb. 23, for a 4pm ET battle against the Wolverines.
