
UCLA Wraps Up Bi-Coastal Meets at Clemson, Washington

The UCLA track and field team completed two days of bi-coastal competition on Saturday, with the Bruins putting up plenty of strong performances across the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson, S.C. and the 2025 Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash.
The weekend was highlighted by a school record in the 400m dash from Gabriel Clement II, who completed that race in 45.90 at the Tiger Paw Invite. The outing made him just the second Bruin ever to break the 46-second mark, and the time was nearly a full second below his previous PR.
Asha Fletcher also had a big performance for UCLA, winning the women's triple jump in Clemson with a mark of 13.30m (43-07.75). That mark was a PR for Asha, and No. 4 in UCLA school history.
In all across the two sites, UCLA totaled one event win, five runners-up, seven podium finishes, and 10 entries in the program's all-time top-10 lists.
CLEMSON TRACK EVENTS RECAP
The Bruins' Friday morning track events were highlighted by a PR time from Davis Davis-Lyric in the men's 60m hurdles semifinals, as his time of 7.94 was good for No. 5 in school history.
Yanla Ndjip-Nyemeck was the Bruins' top performer in the women's 60m hurdles, making it to the final and ultimately placing sixth with a time of 8.15 Her best time came in semis, as she ran a 8.10.
Aly Conyers (52.84) and Kayla McBride (53.97) both stood out in the women's 400m, improving on their PRs and strengthening their positions at No. 2 and 10, respectively, on the Bruins' all-time top-10.
Rose Pittman got the Bruins started on Saturday morning with a strong performance in the 800m, running the best time for UCLA this season in that event at 2:05.69.
Taylor Snaer (23.07, fourth) and Naomi Johnson (23.31, eighth) followed up with their second-best times of the year in the 200m, allowing both to finish inside the top-10.
UCLA closed out the meet with the women's 4x400 relay, as the school-record quartet of Conyers, Snaer, Kaylen Fletcher, and Naomi Johnson finished in 3:31.80. It was the second-best 4x400 time of the year for that group.
CLEMSON FIELD EVENTS RECAP
Fresh off a school record in the women's pentathlon at last weekend's New Mexico Collegiate Classic, Sydney Johnson kept up her momentum with a runner-up finish in the long jump. Her mark of 6.17m (20-03.00) was a PR, marking her first time clearing 20 feet. The mark improved her standing at No. 7 in UCLA's all-time top-10 list.
Valentina Fakrogha continued her impressive freshman season by finishing third and PR'ing in the high jump after clearing 1.79m (5-10.50). With that mark, she moved up to No. 5 in school history.
Camryn O'Bannon finished highest for the Bruins in the men's long jump with a long of 7.66m (25-01.75).
HUSKY TRACK EVENTS RECAP
Bennett Booth-Genthe highlighted UCLA's performance on the track in Seattle, coming in fourth in the men's mile at 3:57.55. That time improved on his PR and strengthened his spot at No. 2 in school history. ย Both Bruin entries in the women's mile finished under five minutes, led by Kaho Cichon's 4:51.75.
The men's 800m โ UCLA's last event of the weekend โ saw a pair of Bruins in the top-10 in Angus Harrington (1:48.35) and Parker Raymond (1:48.38), who finished 7-8. Harrington's time was the best by a Bruin this year in the 800m, and Raymond's time broke into the UCLA all-time top-10 at No. 6. On the women's side, Georgia Jeanneret was UCLA's top finisher at 2:10.59.
Ailish Hawkins finished first among the three Bruins to enter the women's 3,000m, completing that race in 9:27.38. Kaho Cichon (9:49.88) and Annika Salz (9:56.58) both finished under 10 minutes in their first 3K outings of 2025.
Michael Mireles (7:56.96) paced the Bruins in the men's 3,000m, clocking in under eight minutes for the second time in his college career.
HUSKY FIELD EVENTS RECAP
Hunter O'Brien cleared a season-best 5.40m (17-08.50) in the men's pole vault to secure a runner-up finish in Seattle. Cade Sommers joined him in the top-five with a high-mark of 4.95m (16-02.75).
Michael Pinckney followed up with a season-high mark of 21.21m (69-07.00) in the men's weight throw to finish runner-up. Meanwhile, Kris Emig hit a PR at 19.56m (64-04.25) to finish fourth and move up to No. 4 in school history. Pinckney was also the Bruins' top finisher in the shot put, ending up fourth with a mark of 16.51m (54-02.00).
Lyvante Su'emai had a strong weekend overall, placing runner-up and recording season-best marks in both the weight throw (18.13m / 59-05.75) and shot put (15.42m / 50-07.25). April Fontenette logged a PR in the shot put at 13.75m (45-01.50) to place seventh. ย
Katarina Adamiec closed out UCLA's Friday events with a fourth-place result in the women's pole vault, clearing 4.00m (13-01.50).
