Senior Maggie Boyd and sophomore Sally Perez led UCLA to its third NCAA Beach Volleyball title and first since 2019.

LOS ANGELES – Senior Maggie Boyd and sophomore Sally Perez of UCLA Beach Volleyball have been selected as the Student-Athlete of the Week presented by La Victoria for athletic competitions held between April 28-May 4.
 
Senior Maggie Boyd and sophomore Sally Perez led UCLA to its third NCAA Beach Volleyball title and first since 2019. The No. 1 pair and the back-to-back MPSF Pair of the Year recorded the clinching point in the championship match against top-seeded Stanford, beating Kelly Belardi and Avery Jackson 21-11, 21-19. It was their third win of the season against the Cardinal's top-ranked pair. Boyd and Perez also recorded straight-set wins over No. 6 seed Cal Poly in the quarterfinals (21-18, 21-19) and No. 14 seed Tulane in the first round (21-16, 21-14). Boyd, who was named the 2026 AVCA Player of the Year, finishes her UCLA career with 13 NCAA Tournament victories and 125 individual victories, third-most in UCLA history. Perez, the 2026 MPSF Player of the Year, finished the season with 34 victories, the fifth-most by a Bruin in a single season. As a pair, they won 33 matches, the third-most by a UCLA pair in a season. Their 64 career victories rank No. 2 all-time at UCLA. Boyd and Perez were named to the NCAA All-Tournament team on Court 1.   
 
The pair secures its second-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award.
