LOS ANGELES – Sophomore Celeste Polzonetti of UCLA Track & Field been selected as the Student-Athlete of the Week presented by La Victoria for athletic competitions held between June 9-June 15.
Polzonetti claimed the national runner-up in the 100m hurdles at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Oregon this past weekend, running a 12.79 in the finals of the event. She became UCLA's highest-ever finisher in the 100m hurdles at the NCAA competition and is the first individual medalist for UCLA since 2019. Polzonetti is also UCLA's first runner-up on the women's side at the outdoor NCAA championship since 2012. She ran a personal best (12.74) on Thursday during the preliminary round, jumping up to No. 3 in UCLA's all-time record books and clinching her spot in Saturday's final.
The hurdler secures her first-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award.
