Senior Middle Blocker Elisabeth Bachman (Lakeville, MN/Lakeville HS) of the UCLA Women?s Volleyball Team was selected as the UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 18-24.
Bachman became the fourth Bruin and 14th player in Pac-10 history to record 1,000 career kills and 500 career total blocks, achieving both milestones in Friday?s win at Cal. She earned her 1,000th career kill on the third rally of the match (she entered the match needing two kills for 1,000) and posted her ninth block of the match and 500th of her career on the next-to-last rally of the match. She joins Daiva Tomkus, Kim Krull and Natalie Williams in the 1000/500 club.
For the weekend, Bachman led the Bruins with 13 total blocks, 2 BS/11 BA and had 21 total kills.
