If you could play another sport at UCLA, what would it be and why?:
Definitely soccer! I've always loved soccer. I played all of my life and never would've focused on running except that I could never get my feet to do what they were supposed to do. Running takes less coordination!

Most memorable athletic moment:
My freshman year we swept USC in the 5K to clinch a victory, making it 20 years straight. And we were underdogs competing at USC. I loved it!

Most embarrassing experience:
Finishing close to last in the Pac-10's my freshman year. I wasn't ready for the weather or the competition and was beaten by a lot of runners that I know I am better than. I didn't even want to come home after that race.

Best place you've ever visited:
Santorini, an island in the Mediterranean. It is the most beautiful, picturesque place I've ever been. Everywhere you go the people are really friendly. I loved ordering a drink and sitting with a book at the Cliff-Side Caf?. It's the perfect vacation spot.

Place you would most like to go:
Anywhere and everywhere. There are so many places I've never been and so many things I've never seen. I'm always looking to go somewhere new.

Best event you've ever attended as a fan:
The U.S. vs. Mexico World Cup Qualifying game at the Rose Bowl. There were 100,000 fans and I'd say about 85,000 of them were cheering for Mexico. We had good seats and the U.S. won 1-0 to qualify for the 1996 World Cup.

If you were the President for a day, what is the first thing you'd do?:
Increase the budget for education. Then I'd throw a gala, black tie dinner for 30 of my closest friends. We'd live it up until midnight, or at least until they kicked us out!

What athlete or athletes do you admire?:
Meb Keflezighi (former UCLA All-American and 2000 U.S. Olympian). He has so much talent, yet he has developed the best work ethic. He knows what he wants and he disciplines himself such that every day he comes closer to his goals. And, he's completely humble with his success.

What do you see yourself doing 10 years from now?:
Coaching cross-country and track, and teaching ninth and tenth graders at a disadvantaged high school. And doing a lot of summer travelling!
