Took part in seven outdoor meets โฆ Outdoor: Made his season debut at the Willie Williams Classic, where he placed second in the 1500m run with a time of 3:51.85 โฆ Later PRโed in the 1500m at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational, winning the race with a time of 3:46.92 โฆ PRโed in the one-mile (4:05.04) run at the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival to finish second โฆ PRโed in the 800m (1:54.08) at USC, placing sixth โฆ Competed in the prelims of the 1500m at the NCAA West Regionals, where he clocked a time of 3:52.68.

Finished in 79th place at the Pac-12 Championships with a time of 26:45.4 ... Competed at the Fresno Invite, finishing in seventh place with a four-mile time of 20:59.3 ... Led the Bruins at the Santa Clara Bronco Invite, finishing 31st with an 8K mark of 24:27.9.

Competed in five outdoor meets, primarily in the 1500m ... Set a new collegiate-best in the 1500m at the USC Dual meet, finishing in 3:47.74 for a fifth-place finish ... Raced in the 1500 at the Pac-12 Championships, finishing 12th in both the prelim and the final, finishing the final in 3:48.01 ... Won the 3000m at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational on Apr. 14, crossing the line in 8:24.30 ... In his season outdoor debut, set a collegiate-best in the 800mย at 1:54.95.

Helped the Bruins to a second-place team finish at the Bronco Invite (8k), clocking time of 24:45.1 to finish 49th overall โฆ Finished 12th overall at the TMU Invite (8k), running 25:30.7 to help win the menโs team competition โฆ Made his UCLA cross country debut at the George Kyte Classic (4.5mi) in Flagstaff, finishing 30th overall with a time of 25:08.9.

Competed in the distance events in four indoor meets his true freshman season โฆ Ran the 3,000m at the MPSF Championships, finishing 33rd overall with a time of 8:23.16 โฆ Ran a lifetime-best mile time of 4:06.06 at the Husky Classic, good for 35th place.

Attended Martin Luther King High School in Riverside, Calif. โฆ Earned four letters in track and three in cross country โฆ An all-state, All-CIF and all-league performer his senior season โฆ Won the CIF-SS Division I 3,200m โฆ Also helped lead the DMR to the win at Arcadia โฆ During his junior year, Janes was an All-CIF, all-league selection and a state finalist in the 1,600m โฆ Set the Riverside County record in the 1,600m โฆ Holds personal bests of 4:05.86 in the 1,600m, 4:05.97 in the mile, 8:56.93 in the 3,200m and 1:56 in the 800m โฆ In cross country, Janes was a state finalist, All-CIF, all-league and team MVP during his senior season โฆ As a junior he was named team MVP and a state finalist โฆ League champion and all-league his sophomore season.

Son of Keith and Karla Janes โฆ Has one brother named Mathew and a sister named Allison โฆ His biggest athletic thrill so far has been winning the DMR at Arcadia โฆ Enjoys fishing โฆ A three-time All-Channel League selection and two-year captain in cross country โฆ All-CIF southern section and All-State honoree as a senior.
