Powell was a four-year letterwinner in softball and played point guard for the Conroe High School girl’s basketball team for three years … named the Texas District 13-6A Offensive Player of the Year in back-to-back years as a junior and senior … ranked as the No. 6 overall recruit in the country by Extra Inning Softball, No. 15 by MaxPreps and No. 24 by FloSoftball … as a junior in 2021, she slashed .583/.628/.893 with a 1.501 OPS, 35 steals, 20 runs batted in, 45 runs scored and 49 hits, including seven doubles, five triples and three homers … as a freshman in 2019, Powell hit .545 with 42 hits and 22 stolen bases … won 11 national championships on her travel ball teams, including three with the Diamond Sports Hotshots Premier Nelson at the PGF National Tournament … at the 2020 USA Gold Nationals, she hit .429 with 15 runs and swiped a team-high 13 stolen bases to earn 2020 National MVP honors.
