STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford picked the right time to win its first tournament of the season, as it took top honors at the Pac-10 Championships this afternoon at its own Stanford Golf Course. The Caridnal was led by Hilary Homeyer, Stephanie Keever and Julie Dunn, all who placed in the top 10 for Stanford. Homeyer carded an even-par 216 on the par-72, 6,254-yard layout to finish second in the conference championships. Keever finished one stroke behind her teammate for a share of third place, while Dunn placed ninth with a five-over 221. All three scores were season bests.
The Cardinal also recorded a season low team score of 876, as Stanford finished 12 strokes ahead of two-time defending league champion Arizona (888). Two-time defending NCAA Champion Arizona State placed third with a three-day total of 893. UCLA and Southern California rounded out the top five teams.
Arizona State's Grace Park won the individual conference title with a five-under-par 211, highlighted by a 69 in the final round. A Sun Devil has won the league title in seven of the last 13 Pac-10 Championships.
The NCAA West Regional will be held at Pine Forest Country Club in Houston, Texas, May 6-8.
