Men's Golfers Finish 14th at Ping Invitational

TUCSON, AZ - The UCLA men's golf team finished 14th today at the PING/Arizona Intercollegiate, played at The Raven at Sabino Springs in Tucson, AZ.

The Bruins posted a team score of 303-290-289--882 (+30) for a 14th-place finish. The team title was claimed by USC, who shot 276-275-282--833 (-19) for the tournament. The Trojans were the only team in the field under par. Individual medalist honors went to USC's Alex Kuyumjian, who finished at 66-67-71--206 (-7)

Sophomore Travis Johnson was UCLA's top finisher, finishing tied for 23rd with a 70-72-74--216 (+3). Junior Parker McLachlin and sophomore J.T. Kohut tied for 38th, finishing at +7 for the tournament. John Merrick and Sang Eun Jr. tied for 85th at +19.

The Bruin men's golf team returns to action on Feb. 15 with the opening round of the TaylorMade Big Island Classic at the Waikoloa Kings Country Club in South Kohala, HI.
