The UCLA women's golf team is tied for seventh place after the first round of the Peg Barnard Invitational, hosted by Stanford at the Stanford Golf Course.

The Bruins posted a team score of 307, 14-over par, and are tied with Nevada. Washington leads the field at 297, nine-over par, followed by USC at 300 and Washington State at 301.

Individually for the Bruins, senior Alicia Um is tied for 14th place 75, three-over par. Freshman Charlotte Mayorkas is tied for 19th at 76, followed by sophomore Gina Umeck, who is tied for 27th at 77. Freshman Yvonne Choe is tied for 41st at 79 and sophomore Melissa Martin is tied for 51st at 80. Freshman Kristin Thompson, playing as an individual, also is tied for 27th.

San Jose State's Marcela Leon is tied for first place with WSU's Tasha Browner at even-par 72. There is a seven-way tie for third at 73.

Final round action continues tomorrow.
