Bruins Fifth after First Round at Pac-10 Championships

The UCLA women's golf team is in fifth place after the first round of the Pacific-10 Conference Championships at Walla Walla Country Club, hosted by Washington State.

The Bruins posted a team score of 301, 13-over par. Arizona leads the field at five-over par 293, followed by USC at 297, California at 299 and Stanford at 300. Arizona State is sixth at 305.

UCLA freshman Yvonne Choe is tied for first place after carding a one-under par 71. Sophomore Gina Umeck is tied for 16th at 76, four-over par. Freshman Charlotte Mayorkas and sophomore Melissa Martin are tied for 25th at 77, and senior Alicia Um is tied for 32nd at 79.

USC's Mikaela Parmlid is tied with Choe at 71. Arizona State's Jimin Kang and Arizona's Lorena Ochoa are tied for third place at even par 72.

Second round action continues Tuesday.
