UCLA Finishes Fourth at PING/ASU Invitational

The UCLA women's golf team finished fourth at the PING/ASU Invitational Sunday at Arizona State's Karsten Course in Tempe, AZ.

The Bruins posted a three-round team score of 883, 19-over par. Tulsa won the event with a 54-hole total of 871, seven-over par, followed by Arizona State at 877 and Arizona at 881. California finished fifth at 890.

Individually for the Bruins, sophomore Gina Umeck tied for sixth place at two-over par 218 after posting a final round score of 70. Freshman Yvonne Choe tied for 15th at 222. She fired a final round score of three-under par 69. Freshman Carlote Mayorkas and senior Alicia Um tied for 24th place at 224. Sophomore Melissa Martin tied for 60th at 232.

Arizona's Lorena Ochoa won individual medalist honors with a nine-under par score of 207. She posted a final round score of four-under par 68. Arizona State's Jimin Kang posted the low round of the day, a six-under par 66, to finish second at 211, five-under par. Tulsa's Stacy Prammanasudh placed third at 212.
