Bruin Blue Team Tied for Fourth after Day One

The UCLA men's golf Blue Team was tied for fourth place after two rounds of competition at the Bill Cullum Invitational, hosted by Cal State Northridge at Wood Ranch Country Club.

UCLA posted a 36-hole score of 597 (+9) and trailed first place Holy Names University by 12 strokes with one round left to play. Cal State San Marcos was second at 586 (-2), followed by Pacific at 596. The Bruins were tied for fourth with Utah State.

Individually for the Bruins, sophomore Kevin Chappell was tied for seventh place at 145 (+1) after carding rounds of 72-73. Craig Leslie was tied for 11th at 147 (+3) after posting rounds of 77-70. Sophomore Brandon Christianson was tied for 34th at 154 (+10) and junior Joakim Renstrom was tied for 44th at 156 (+12). Junior Peter Campbell was forced to withdraw in the second round because of injury. He posted a first round score of 77.

Final round action continues Tuesday.
