Men’s Golf Falls in Copper Cup Final, 7-5

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. – The No. 21-ranked UCLA men's golf team fell to No. 30 Arizona in the Copper Cup championship match, 7-5, at El Niguel Country Club on Tuesday.
The Bruins concluded their 12 matches against the Wildcats with five total wins, including four during the afternoon singles portion of the competition. UCLA golfers Josh Kim, Tyler Loree, Alex Papayoanou and Logan Kim each delivered a point for the Bruins.
In the morning session, Papayoanou and teammate Matthew Yamin ousted Arizona's Dillon Dean and Connor Hamm for UCLA's lone alternate shot match victory. Below are the full results from Tuesday's action.
UCLA defeated crosstown rival USC, 7.5-3.5, in the first round of the Copper Cup on Monday to earn clinch its spot in Tuesday's final.
UCLA's next tournament will be at the Southwestern Invitational from Jan. 26-28, hosted at nearby North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, Calif. – the site of the Bruins' first national championship in 1988.
