
Women's Golf is Fourth in North Carolina

After the first day of competition Friday at the Landfall Tradition tournament, the fourth-ranked UCLA women's golf team was in fourth place.
The Bruins posted a team score of 296 (+6) and trailed the opening day frontrunners by five shots. Duke and Texas were tied for first place at 291 (+3), followed by North Carolina in third place 293 (+5). South Carolina and Notre Dame were tied for fifth place at 299 (+11).
Individually for the Bruins, three players were tied for 12th place at one-over par 73 (+1): freshman Ani Gulugian, junior Stephanie Kono and sophomore Tiffany Lua. Kono improved her score by making consecutive birdies on the last two holes.
Glory Yang posted a score of 75 (+3) and tied for 27th and sophomore Brianna Do was tied for 36th following a score of 76 (+4).
There was a three-way tie for first place at two-under par 70 among Duke's Kim Donovan, North Carolina State's Caroline Ellington and Katherine Perry of North Carolina.
