With the help of a two-under par team score in the second round, the UCLA women's golf team vaulted into tie for second place at the Landfall Tradition tournament in Wilmington, NC.

The Bruins posted a score of 286 (-2) for a 36-hole total of 580 (+4). Duke maintained its lead at 575 (-1). Texas fell to fourth place at 593 (+17), followed by fifth-place Virginia at 594 (+18). The Bruins were tied with North Carolina.

Individually for the Bruins, sophomore Tiffany Lua climbed nine spots on the leader board and was tied for third at 142 (-2). On Saturday, Lua posted a score of 69 (-3) and was three shots off the lead.

Freshman Ani Gulugian and senior Glory Yang each posted even par scores of 72. Gulugian was tied for eighth at 145 (+1) and Yang was tied for 12th at 147 (+3). Junior Stephanie Kono posted a score of 73 (+1) and was tied for 10th place at 146 (+2). Junior Brianna Do was tied for 33rd place at 151 (+7) after signing for a 75 (+3) on Saturday.

Virginia's Brittany Altomare was the 36-hole leader at 139 (-5) following a round of 68 (-4).
