
Women's Golf Surges to Third Place in Tennessee

The nationally ranked UCLA women's golf team surged into a third place finish on the strength of a nine-under par third round at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, TN.
The Bruins fired a final round team score of 281 (-9) and tied for third place with USC at 13-under par 851. LSU won the event with a 54-hole total of 843 (-21), followed by Purdue in second place at 845 (-19). Cal dropped to fifth place at 10-under 854.
Individually, freshman Ani Gulugian tied for fourth place with a three round score of 209 (-7) and posted a final round score of 69 (-3), a collegiate best. Junior Stephanie Kono tied for ninth place at 211 (-5) after carding a 70 (-2) in the third round. Third year sophomore Lee Lopez tied for 21st place at two-under par 214 following a final round 72 (E). Sophomore Tiffany Lua had the team's best score, a 68 (-4), and tied for 54th place, an improvement of 23 spots on the leader board. Junior Brianna Do finished 78th at 231 (+15).
Cal's Pia Halbig won with a 54-hole total of 203 (-13) after firing a 68 (-4) in the final round.
