
Bruins Finish First Day in Texas

The UCLA Women's Golf team finished the first round of the Longhorn Invitational today in Austin, TX, with the Bruins scoring 304 (+16) after 18. The score leaves the Bruins in 11th headed into Monday's second round of play.
The Bruins finished ahead of familiar foe Pepperdine, as the Waves finished at 307 (+19) to settle behind the Bruins in 12th. Kent State ended their day in 10th, scoring a 300 (+12). Top 10 foes #9 Alabama finished the day in first, going four under at 284 (-4) to finish firmly ahead of their SEC Rival Arkansas at 288 (E). #10 Arizona State finished in third, ahead of #6 Florida as the Sun Devils and Gators finished at 290 (+2) and 293 (+5) respectively.
The Bruins were lead on the individual front by Erynne Lee, as the sophomore birdied her last two holes to card a 69 (-3) and finish in a three-way tie for second atop the individual leaderboard. Lee's score is the best by a UCLA woman this season. Next was junior Ani Gulugian, who notched a 76 (+4) to finish a stroke ahead of senior Lee Lopez at 77 (+5). Freshman Louise Ridderstrom finished with an 82 (+10) to round out the scoring.
