HONOLULU, Hawai'i - Senior Karsta Lowe (16) and freshmen Reily Buechler (12) and Olga Strantzali (10) each had double figures in kills, as the 25th-ranked Bruins recorded the program's 1,200th victory on Thursday in a sweep of San Francisco at the Outrigger Resorts Volleyball Challenge. Set scores were 25-19, 25-13, 25-19.

The Bruins (4-2) hit .419 in the match and won their 47th in a row when hitting over .300. Buechler led the way with a .647 percentage on only one error in 17 attempts. Lowe hit .520 with four digs and three blocks, while Strantzali had a .320 percentage.

Sophomore Claire Felix had five kills and one error in 10 swings (.400) with three blocks, while senior Julie Consani posted 34 assists and five digs. Defensively, sophomore Taylor Formico tallied nine digs, junior Karly Drolson had seven and junior Rachel Inouye added five.

The Bruins never trailed in winning the opening set, scoring the first three points on two USF errors and a Strantzali kill. The lead fluctuated between one and three until the Bruins took a 12-8 edge after a Strantzali kill. With the score 14-12, the Bruins netted four in a row on a kill by senior Zoë Nightingale, two straight from Lowe and a Buechler kill to make it 18-12. The Dons scored the next three to get to within three at 18-15, but could get no closer.

A 5-1 UCLA run on three Lowe kills, a Strantzali kill and a USF attack error put the Bruins up by a set-best seven at 23-16. A kill by Felix gave the Bruins seven set points and UCLA capitalized on its third attempt on Strantzali's sixth kill of the set to win it 25-19. Lowe paced the Bruins with seven kills, while Buechler and Nightingale added three apiece. The Bruins had 21 kills and just two errors in 34 attempts (.559), while the Dons hit .259.

USF took its first lead of the match with the first point of set two, but five in a row for the Bruins on four straight Don errors and a Felix solo block put UCLA up to stay at 5-1. After a sideout, kills by Strantzali, Lowe and Consani made it 8-2. Following another sideout, a Felix kill, a USF attack error and Lowe and Buechler kills put the Bruins up 12-3.

UCLA's lead didn't dip below seven for the rest of the set. At 18-10, three Strantzali kills and a bad USF set gave the Bruins a set-best lead of 12 at 22-10. On the Bruins' second set point, a Buechler kill finished off a 25-13 victory. Buechler and Strantzali each had four kills in the second, while Lowe added three. The Bruins had one less error in the second set, posting 14 kills and one miscue in 28 attempts (.464), while holding the Dons to a -.074 percentage.

USF held its largest lead of the match of two points at 6-4 and 8-6 before a 5-0 Bruin run righted their ship. Three straight Lowe kills, a Buechler kill and a Lowe/Nightingale combo block made it 11-8. The Dons closed to within one at 13-12, but a 6-1 run extended the UCLA lead. After back-to-back Felix kills and a USF sideout, a Lowe kill, a Don attack error and consecutive Buechler kills made it 19-13.

UCLA's lead remained between four and six for the rest of the third set. Up 23-19, a Buechler kill and a combo block by Lowe and Nightingale finished off a 25-19 victory. Lowe paced the Bruins with six kills, while Buechler added five. Formico added five digs, as the Bruins out-hit the Dons .226 to .094.

The Bruins take on #22 Hawai'i on Friday at 10:30 p.m. PT. Links for live stats and live video will be available on the women's volleyball schedule page at UCLABruins.com.
