
Bruins Tied for Second After 18 Holes

STANFORD, Calif. - The Bruins are in a tie for second (+5, 289), two strokes back of host Stanford, following 18 holes at the Stanford Intercollegiate hosted by Condoleezza Rice at the Stanford Golf Course. Junior Bronte Law made five birdies on Sunday and is sitting one shot back at 4-under after shooting a 67.
Law made birdies on the second, fifth, 12th, 15th and 16th holes, with only a bogey on #18 staining her card. It was Law's second straight under-par round and a season best, and put her one shot behind Pepperdine's Marissa Chow (-5) for the tournament lead.
Senior Louise Ridderström had the second-best round of the day for a Bruin at 2-over 73. Playing as an individual, Ridderström had birdies on the fourth and 12th.
A trio of Bruins, sophomores Erin Choi and Lydia Choi and freshman Lilia Vu, each shot 3-over 74 to tie for 25th after 18 holes. Vu had three birdies on the day, Lydia Choi two and Erin Choi posted one. Freshman Bethany Wu is tied for 42nd following day one after going +4 (75), making a pair of birdies during her round.
The Bruins' second round starts on the first tee at 10 a.m. on Monday, in the order of Wu, Lydia Choi, Vu, Erin Choi and Law. Ridderström will go off the 10th at 10:36 a.m.
