Bruins Win Pac-12 Preview

KOHALA, Hawai'i - The Bruins posted their first victory of the season on Tuesday, notching a seven-shot victory at the Pac-12 Preview at Nanea Golf Club.
UCLA was -8 (284) as a team on Tuesday to conclude the tournament at 1-over 877, seven shots clear of Arizona State. Five of the six Bruins finished in the Top 15. After second-place finishes in each of the last two Pac-12 Previews, the Bruins posted their 54th victory under head coach Carrie Forsyth.
Junior Bronte Law posted her second bogey-free round of the tournament on Tuesday to finish even-par 219. Law was 5-under (68) with birdies on the second, fifth, ninth, 11th and 13th. The Pac-12 Golfer of October has six under-par rounds in her last seven.
Freshman Lilia Vu was also 5-under (68) on Tuesday, making six birdies (#5, #6, #7, #10, #13 and #18) with a single bogey on the 15th. Vu tied for eighth overall at 1-over 220.
Senior Louise Ridderström shot a 1-over 74 in her final round to tie for 10th in the tournament (+2, 221). She made a pair of birdies on the fifth and 13th, as well as three bogeys.
Freshman Bethany Wu was 1-over (74) on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 15th at +4 (223). She had birdies on the eighth and 13th holes, with a bogey and a double.
Sophomore Lydia Choi, playing as an individual, tied for 15th at +4 (223). Choi was 1-over (74) on Tuesday with four birdies (#2, #10, #14 and #17), three bogeys and a double.
Sophomore Erin Choi shot a 3-over 76 to close the tournament, making a birdie on the eighth and four bogeys. She placed in a tie for 32nd (+11, 230).
The fall season is over for the Bruins, who next play Feb. 7-9 at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.
