Bruins Seventh Through Day One of NGRC

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. – The third-ranked Bruins are seventh following the first round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge after shooting a 9-over 293 on Sunday at Palos Verdes Golf Club.
The top scorer for UCLA in the first round was junior Bronte Law, who shot an even-par 71 to put her in a tie for 11th. Starting on the 10th, Law rebounded from a triple bogey on the 11th and bogeys on the 14th and 18th to birdie holes #12, #2, #5, #7 and #9.
A trio of Bruins are tied for 27th at +3 (74). Sophomore Erin Choi made four birdies on the 12th, 16th, 17th and eighth to go with five bogeys and a double. Freshman Lilia Vu had a pair of birdies on the 17th and seventh, a bogey on the 10th and doubles on the 11th and fourth. Freshman Bethany Wu recorded four birdies (#14, #16, #4, #9) and seven bogeys (#11, #13, #15, #18, #2, #6, #8).
Senior Louise Ridderström is tied for 61st after a 7-over round of 78. She had a birdie on the sixth to go with six bogeys and a double. Playing as individuals, sophomore Lydia Choi shot a +8 (79, T-65) and junior Hadas Libman shot a +11 (82, T-81).
The Bruins start the second round on the first tee on Monday at 9:12 a.m. in the order of Ridderström, Erin Choi, Vu, Wu and Law. Lydia Choi and Libman tee off on the 10th at 9 a.m.
