
Bruins Up One Spot to 6th at NGRC

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. – The third-ranked Bruins moved up to sixth after two rounds of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge after posting an 8-over 292 on Monday at Palos Verdes Golf Club. UCLA is at +17 (585), 12 shots back of leaders Alabama and Washington.
Freshman Bethany Wu had the best round of the day for the Bruins, shooting an even-par 71. She had five birdies on the second, ninth, 12th, 15th and 17th to go with three bogeys and a double. Wu is tied for 12th at 3-over (145) through 36 holes.
Freshman Lilia Vu is T-15 after two rounds at 4-over (146) following a 1-over 72 on Monday. She made a birdie on the third, as well as three in a row on holes #12-#14, to go with five bogeys. Junior Bronte Law remains the top Bruin scorer for the tournament at 2-over (144) to put her in a tie for seventh. She recorded birdies on the first, 12th and 16th in round two along with five bogeys.
Sophomore Erin Choi is tied for 35th (+8, 150) heading into the final round after a 5-over 76. She had birdies on the eighth and 13th, but also made four bogeys and a triple. Senior Louise Ridderström is tied for 51st (+14, 156) after another 78 (+7). Sophomore Lydia Choi, playing as an individual, is also tied for 51st (+14, 156) after a 77 (+6). Junior Hadas Libman is tied for 69th (+18, 160) following a 78 (+7).
Tuesday's final round is a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., with the Bruins beginning on holes #5-8. Lydia Choi and Libman open on the 17th.
