CORVALLIS, Ore. - Sophomore Delaney Spaulding had three hits and was a double shy of the cycle, senior Stephany LaRosa added two hits and freshmen Johanna Grauer and Selina Ta'amilo teamed up on a five-hitter in the circle, as the seventh-ranked Bruins finished off a sweep of Oregon State with a 6-2 win on Monday at the OSU Softball Complex.
The Bruins improve to 41-8 overall and 15-3 in Pac-12 play, running their winning streak to 10, while the Beavers fall to 25-23 and 5-16 in Pac-12.
Grauer moved to 10-1 on the season, striking out two in five innings and giving up three hits, one run and one walk, posting a 1-2-3 frame in the fifth. Ta'amilo tossed the last two and allowed a run and two hits, retiring the side in order in the seventh.
LaRosa, Spaulding and sophomore Gabrielle Maurice, who hit a three-run homer, combined for all six Bruin hits.
UCLA made it nine straight innings with a run when it scored in the first. Spaulding led off with a single through the 5-6 hole, moved to second on a sacrifice by freshman Kylee Perez and scored on a single to left from LaRosa.
The Bruins added two more in the third. Junior Allexis Bennett opened with a walk and Spaulding lined a laser over the left-field wall for her 13th homer of the season to make it 3-0.
Oregon State got a run closer in its half of the third, as Kori Nishitomi led off with a triple and was singled home by Mikela Manewa.
In the fifth, one more swing of the bat put three on the board for the Bruins. Senior Ally Carda reached on a one-out error at third by CJ Chirichigno and stole second, moved to third on a LaRosa single and scored on Maurice's fifth homer of the season that bounced off the top of the right-field wall and out to make it 6-1.
Two singles, an error and a fielder's choice grounder by Dani Gilmore brought in the Beavers' second run, but the home team could get no closer.
Along with scoring over five runs for a 10th-straight game, the Bruins also had a great defensive day with a pair of double plays. Senior Gracie Goulder started a 4-3 twin killing in the first, while Grauer began a 1-6-3 double play in the third.
