ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Junior Tyler Collier and freshman Spencer Soosman each shot 1-under 71's on Friday, as the Bruins are in 10th place following round one of the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate. UCLA shot a 7-over 295 on the Creekside Course.
Collier had three birdies in his opening round on the fourth, fifth and 12th to go with a pair of bogeys on #9 and #10. Soosman also had three birdies (#2, #12 and #13), as well as making an eagle on the fifth, adding four bogeys. The duo are each tied for eighth.
Sophomore Patrick Murphy shot a 4-over 76 and is tied for 63rd. He made two birdies on #11 and #17 with six bogeys. Sophomore Cole Madey is tied for 70th after a 5-over 77, recording birdies on the first and fifth holes to go with four bogeys and a triple. Sophomore Matt Hutchins is tied for 81st (+8, 80). His lone birdie was on the second, adding five bogeys and two double bogeys.
The Bruins move over to the Lakeside Course on Saturday, starting their round at 9 a.m. ET/6 a.m. PT in the order of Soosman, Murphy, Madey, Hutchins and Collier.
