ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Sophomore Cole Madey had the low round of the day on Saturday with a 1-over 73, as the Bruins completed their second round at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate. UCLA shot a 13-over (301) as a team on the Lakeside Course and is at +20 (596) after 36 holes, sitting in 14th place.
Madey had three birdies in his second round on the second, ninth and 15th holes, adding four bogeys. He is tied for 56th at 6-over (150) after 36 holes. The top Bruin heading into Sunday's final round is freshman Spencer Soosman, who is tied for 37th (+3, 147). He shot a 76 (+4) on Saturday with birdies on #12 and #15, two bogeys and two double bogeys. Junior Tyler Collier is tied for 42nd (+4, 148). He had a 5-over 77 in round two with birdies on the first and fifth holes to go with seven bogeys. Sophomore Patrick Murphy is tied for 60th at +7 (151). He had four birdies during his 3-over 75 on Saturday, gaining strokes on the first, fourth, 12th and 13th, adding three bogeys and two doubles. Sophomore Matt Hutchins is tied for 83rd (+16, 160) after a second-straight 80 (+8). His lone birdie came on #11 to go with five bogeys and a quad.
The Bruins begin their final round on Sunday on the Lakeside Course at 8 a.m. ET/5 a.m. PT in the order of Hutchins, Murphy, Madey, Collier and Soosman. Live scoring will be available here.
