
UCLA Tied for Second Through 54 Holes

EUGENE, Ore. - The Bruins moved one day closer to the match-play portion of the NCAA Championships, shooting a 3-under 285 on Sunday to rank in a tie for second after 54 holes at the Eugene Country Club.
UCLA, which was in third and trailed USC by eight coming into the round, is now tied for second with Duke (-2, 862) and two shots back of the Trojans.
The low round of the day for the Bruins came from junior Bronte Law, who shot a 3-under 69. After a slow start with bogeys on the second and fourth, one of the leading candidates for Player of the Year found her game, making three birdies in a row on #6, #7 and #8. On her second nine, Law gained another stroke on #11, as well as #17, to finish her round at 4-under (212) for the tournament and in a tie for seventh.
Freshman Lilia Vu was also under par on Sunday, shooting a 1-under 71. She is tied for 15th overall after three rounds at even-par 216. Vu birdied her opening hole, as well as the third and seventh, to go with bogeys on #2 and #18.
Senior Louise Ridderström is tied for 12th through three rounds at 1-under (215). She shot a 73 (+1) on Sunday with three birdies on the fourth, 11th and 17th, adding four bogeys. Freshman Bethany Wu shot an even-par 72 and is tied for 41st at +3 (219). She had three birdies on the second, 12th and 17th to go with three bogeys. Junior Hadas Libman shot a non-team scoring 79 (+7) and is at +17 (233, T-118). She had a birdie on the seventh along with four bogeys and two doubles.
The Bruins conclude stroke play on Monday, starting at 1:10 p.m. off the first tee in the order of Libman, Wu, Vu, Ridderström and Law. Live scoring will be available here.
Golf Channel will begin its unprecedented television coverage of the NCAA Championships on Monday, starting at 4 p.m. with three hours of coverage. The top eight teams after Monday's action advance to match play, which begins on Tuesday.
