STANFORD, Calif. – This weekend, the Bruins begin the first of two consecutive tournaments in the Bay Area, traveling to the Stanford Golf Course for The Goodwin. The three-day, 54-hole tournament runs from Thursday through Saturday at the par-70, 6,727-yard layout.

The scoring fivesome for the Bruins will consist of juniors Tyler Collier and Corey Shaun, sophomores Phil Delisi and Cole Madey and freshman Hidetoshi Yoshihara. UCLA's opening round will start at 12:26 p.m. on Thursday, going off the 10th tee in the order of Delisi, Shaun, Collier, Madey and Yoshihara. Live scoring will be available here.

Joining the Bruins and host and 12th-ranked Stanford in the 24-team field are #1 USC, #10 Oregon, #17 UNLV, #18 Colorado, BYU, Cal Poly, Chico State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Marquette, Nevada, Northern Colorado, Oregon State, Pacific, Pepperdine, Saint Mary's, San Francisco, San Jose State, SMU, UC Davis, Washington and Wyoming.

The Bruins are playing for the fifth time in the 2017 portion of their schedule. Most recently, UCLA placed ninth at the Lamkin San Diego Classic (March 13-14). The Bruins have three third-place showings this season, which all came in the fall (Marquette Intercollegiate - Oct. 2-3; Cypress Point Classic - Match Play - Oct. 31-Nov. 1; Gifford Collegiate - Stroke Play - Nov. 7-9).

Yoshihara, the team leader in scoring average at 71.3, is coming off his second straight tournament with a finish in the Top Five, tying for fifth in San Diego (-5, 211). He also finished solo fourth at The Hayt (-4, 212, Feb. 24-26). Of his last nine rounds, seven have seen the freshman shoot under par, including three rounds in the 60s. Yoshihara has three Top 10s on the year and five rounds under 70.

Collier, second in scoring average at 72.5, tied for seventh at The Hayt (E, 216) thanks to a second-round, 5-under 67 (season best). It was the junior's second Top 10 showing of the season, with his best finish being a tie for fifth at the Marquette Intercollegiate (-1, 209, Oct. 2-3). Collier also has four Top 20s and five rounds under par.

Madey is just behind Collier in scoring average at 72.7, tying for seventh at the Lamkin San Diego Classic (-4, 212). His opening-round 69 (-3) tied for his lowest of the season, while his second-round, 1-under 71 marked the third consecutive time and fifth occasion in seven tournaments in which he went under par for his second 18 holes.

In four tournaments, Shaun has a 75.5 scoring average, posting three rounds under par. His best showing came at the Amer Ari Invitational (Feb. 2-4), when an opening-round 70 (-2) and a second-round 69 (-3) helped the junior to a T-27 finish (-4, 212).

Like Shaun, Delisi will also be playing in his fifth tournament of the season this weekend. The sophomore has a scoring average of 76.3, having tied for 32nd at the Marquette Intercollegiate (+9, 219).

UCLA has won The Goodwin seven times, most recently in 2006, while five Bruins have earned medalist honors.
