STANFORD, Calif. – Sophomore Cole Madey had the low round of the day for the Bruins on Saturday at The Goodwin, shooting a 3-over 73, which included an eagle at the windy Stanford Golf Course.
Madey is tied for 47th (+8, 148) after making three birdies and eight bogeys to go with his eagle. Starting on the front side, he birdied his opening hole. Then on holes #14-#16, Madey played that stretch at 4-under, making birdie on #14 and #15 before his eagle on the 16th.
Juniors Tyler Collier and Corey Shaun are each tied for 74th (+11, 151). Collier had three birdies in his 6-over 76 on #4, #7 and #15, adding five bogeys and two doubles. Shaun gained a stroke on his first hole, as well as #4, to go with seven bogeys and a double for a 7-over 77.
Freshman Hidetoshi Yoshihara is tied for 83rd (+12, 152) following a 6-over 76, making three bogeys and a triple. Sophomore Phil Delisi is tied for 107th (+16, 156) after a 12-over 82, posting a birdie on the third, five bogeys and four doubles.
The Bruins as a team are tied for 20th (+40, 600) after a +22 (302) on Friday.
Round three for UCLA begins at 7:41 a.m. off the 10th tee in the order of Delisi, Yoshihara, Shaun, Collier and Madey. Live scoring will be available here.
